3 Types of Autoimmune Patients / People

There are 3 types of autoimmune people that this site is built for:

  1. Those with DIAGNOSED Autoimmune Disease - “I have M.S.”, “I have Lupus”, or “I have Celiac and Hashimoto’s”.
  2. Those with SUSPECTED Autoimmunity - “My mom has Celiac Disease, my sister has Rheumatoid Arthritis, and I’m having a lot of symptoms (but no formal diagnosis)...”
  3. Those with POSSIBLE Autoimmunity - “I’m so tired and my joints ache and my brain is so foggy and I’m constipated but the doctor’s say I’m healthy and my labs look normal, could this be autoimmunity?”

Depending on which “type” of patient you are, you may have different goals. For example, someone with diagnosed Lupus might want to know “What’s driving this autoimmunity, and what can I do to make sure it doesn’t get worse?” whereas someone with brain fog and headaches might want to know “Can we detect autoimmunity on my labs so I have some answers as to what’s going on?”

It’s not impossible to be in multiple categories - maybe you KNOW you have Rheumatoid Arthritis - - but why is your hair falling out??
